Hailstones scattered across the ground after a storm

Hail Damage Repair in Lucas With the Factory Finish Kept Intact

When a storm rolls in off Lake Lavon and peppers the hood and roof, many of those dents can be pushed out from underneath without disturbing the paint.

How We Look at a Hail-Damaged Car

Hail leaves dozens or even hundreds of shallow dents, and nearly every one of them sits under paint that is still perfectly sound. That changes the goal of the repair. Rather than sanding and refinishing whole panels, we try to massage each dent back into shape from behind so the original clearcoat never has to be touched. Some dents are too sharp, too close to an edge or too stretched for that, and we tell you which ones plainly. After a storm, cars come to us from FM 2551, the neighborhoods off Stinson Road and the quieter roads closer to the lake. Our aim is a car that looks as if the storm missed it, carrying as little new paint as possible.

What a Hail Repair Here Covers

Every hail job is a little different, but most of them share these pieces.

  • Panel-by-panel dent count

Each panel is examined under a reflective board, and the dents are counted and sized, which is how most insurers want a hail estimate written.

  • Access planning for each dent

We work out how to reach the back of every dent, using existing openings where possible, so trim and headliners come out only when they must.

  • Rod work from the underside

Using rods and gentle pressure from behind, the metal is worked back slowly until the reflection across the surface runs straight again.

  • Glue-pull for closed areas

Where a rod cannot reach, such as along roof rails, a tab is glued to the paint and pulled outward with controlled force, then released cleanly.

  • Filler and paint for the stubborn few

Dents sharp enough to split the paint, or deep enough to thin the steel, get traditional bodywork, with filler kept to a thin skim and refinish on that panel only.

  • Blended refinish

When a panel does need paint, the color is tinted to your car and faded into the neighboring panels so the new coat is hard to spot from any angle.

  • Glass and trim check

Hail can chip a windshield, crack mirror housings and split lamp lenses, so those parts are inspected and added to the estimate if damaged.

  • Final light inspection

Before pickup, each panel is reviewed once more beneath the lamp so a leftover high spot or soft low is caught by us rather than by you.

From Storm Day to Pickup

  1. 01

Bring the car for a look

Have the car brought by once the weather clears. A technician walks every panel under the light and marks each dent. You leave with a written count and an honest split between paintless work and conventional work. That document is what your adjuster will want to see.

  2. 02

    Settle the claim and plan

Most policies treat hail as a comprehensive loss, which keeps the claim apart from any collision history. We send our dent map to the insurer and talk through any differences with the adjuster. If interior trim has to come down for access, we explain that before anything is removed. The plan is set before the first dent is touched.

  3. 03

    Work the dents and review

Paintless work goes first, panel by panel, followed by any conventional repair and blended paint. Once a panel is done, it goes back beneath the lamp for a second read. At pickup we show you the roof and hood under that same light so the result is yours to judge. Any replaced parts are kept for you to look over.

What Sets Our Hail Approach Apart

  • Paint stays where it belongs

Factory paint is applied and baked in ways a body shop cannot fully reproduce. Leaving it in place helps the look of the car and its resale story alike.

  • Straight answers on each dent

Not every dent can go paintless. We would rather say so at the start than promise a result the metal will not allow.

  • Patience over speed

Hail work rewards slow, careful pushes. Each panel gets the time it needs instead of rushing the roof to clear the bay.
